Stream the Scene is run by three DJs – Al “Million Dollar Disco” Kent, Colin “Roki” McMillan and Crawford “Bringing ’88 Back” Tait.
Since we’re in the midst of this lockdown and the shows are getting more difficult to produce we thought it would be a good opportunity for a residents night. Ask any clubber and they’ll tell you, residents nights are often the best.
Al is a disco obsessive with an impressive discography and an equally impressive DJ CV. He runs the Million Dollar Disco label, releases edits on a slew of labels, most recently GAMM and Sloth Boogie, compiles for BBE and in normal times travels al over to DJ. He’ll probably play disco on Saturday.
Colin has been a DJ and collector of the best in dance music for over 30 years, covering 80s electro and hip-hop, breaks, disco, funk and soul. For this set he’ll be returning to his roots of underground house of the ’80s and ’90s with some known, and less well known classics.
Crawford is a former resident at the legendary Hi Karate night, an avid collector of old-school rave and breakbeat and an all-round record nerd. He’s most recently been involved with the Rave Diggers group and club night, and the “Bringing ’88 Back” series on Mixcloud. Crawford will be digging into his rave crates for us on Saturday night.
